Tamala Limestone is composed of calcarenite formed though deposition by wind, containing quartz grains and having a cross-bedded nature. The stone dates back to the middle to late Pleistocene era.
The strong thermal properties of Tamala Limestone ensure it will limit heat conduction. Many sub-division developers and construction companies also use Tamala Limestone to reduce noise transfer and enhance sound clarity.
