Cape Naturaliste College – Vasse
To soften the building scape of this secondary school, architects sought to incorporate an impressive sandstone-clad wall as well as using sandstone rubble for some of the retaining walls. Cladding comprised a mix of Donnybrook Pink , Red and Gold sandstone to provide dramatic colour contrasts. The 20mm sandstone cladding was laid in a random bond pattern using a combination of 600x300mm, 300x300mm, 300x150mm and 150x150mm pieces. The rubble also comprised a mix of the Donnybrook Pink, Red and Gold offsetting the extensive use of brick and concrete. Please note Donnybrook rubble is only available in commercial quantities
